Creating A Global Training Program.

Ahead of the re-platforming of nielsen.com from Adobe CQ to WordPress VIP, I worked with a small team to create and implement a comprehensive training program for more than 100 global site authors. I played a key role in defining the strategic elements of the training and continue to work to improve the experience for site authors.

Development.

With site authors located in offices all around the world, creating a global training program that could be completed by trainees at their own pace was a top priority ahead of the migration of nielsen.com to WordPress VIP. The training also needed to cover both the technical steps to build webpages, as well as information about the company’s policies and digital strategy. The program we designed included eight modules covering content strategy, WordPress basics and content building across the different sections of nielsen.com. I contributed valuable guidance into the rationale behind our content strategy, policies and best practices.

Implementation.

Several months ahead of the launch, we staggered the release of the training modules to allow site authors time to take all of the training and address any questions. Thanks to the comprehensiveness of the training, the site’s re-launch on WordPress VIP went smoothly, with minimal errors. Training has also made on-boarding new site authors much more efficient. I continue to work on updating guidance for new and existing site authors.
